Chana Dal Chutney

Ingredients to make Chana Dal Chutney

  • 1/2 cup Chana dal
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 3 green chillies
  • Small ball sized tamarind
  • Salt to taste
  • For tempring
  • 2 Whole dry red chillies
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 sprigs of curry leaves
  • 2 tsp Mustard Oil

How to make Chana Dal Chutney

  1. Take a pan put little mustard oil and heat it. Now add chana dal and fry till little pink. Not so dark.
  2. After switch off the gas add 1/2 glass water and leave it for half an hour.
  3. Take a mixi jar add soaked dal, green chillies, garlic, tamarind water and salt and grind it in a fine paste. Adjust consistency by adding water.
  4. Now pour it in a bowl.
  5. In a pan take little oil and heat it. Add pieces of whole red chillies,curry leaves and mustard seeds. Switch off the gas when start cracking. Pour the tempering on the chutney.
My Tip: Tastes very good with idli and dosa
