Cheese Biscuits

Ingredients to make Cheese Biscuits

  • 500 gms - maida
  • 400 gms - finely grated Britannia cheese
  • 250 gms - finely grated Amul gouda cheese
  • approx 400 gms - butter
  • 3 tbsp - fine mustard powder (I use Coleman)
  • 1 & a 1/2 tsp - red chilli powder (optional)
  • Salt to taste

How to make Cheese Biscuits

  1. Pre heat the oven at 200°C.
  2. Mix all the ingredients to form a nice malleable and soft dough and leave it covered for about 20 minutes for the flavours to blend in.
  3. Roll it out about 4 mm thick onto some baking trays and put bite size piece cuts on the dough (once baked you will not be able to cut).
  4. Bake until cooked, about 10 - 15 minutes. You can check by putting anything sharp in it and if it comes out dry, it's done.
  5. Remove from oven and let it cool down. Once cold separate the pieces and store in an air tight container.
  6. I really have no idea how long they will stay as they never last for more than 3 days in my house! :)
My Tip: No milk, cream or water to be used in this recipe - only butter. I don't add salt because there is enough in the cheese and butter. Get the kids interested by cutting shapes - they'll love it.
