Sri Lankan Spicy Sambal

Ingredients to make Sri Lankan Spicy Sambal

  • 2 Fresh coconuts grated
  • 60 ml - Coconut water or hot water
  • 1 tsp - red chilli powder
  • 1 medium finely diced onion
  • 10 bird's eye chillies chopped
  • 1 lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • For the tadka:
  • 4 dried red chillies broken into pieces (optional)
  • 10 curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp - oil
  • A pinch of haldi for colour

How to make Sri Lankan Spicy Sambal

  1. Mix all except the tadka ingredients in a bowl
  2. Heat the oil and add the tadka ingredients and fry them crisp
  3. Mix it with the others in the bowl
  4. Keeps in an air tight container for a week.

My Tip:

It is supposed to be spicy. Tastes super with everything.
