Daal makhni

Ingredients to make Daal makhni

  • Urad daal 1 cup
  • Rajma 1/4 cup
  • Onion paste 1/2cup
  • Tomato paste 11/2cup
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4tsp
  • Hing a pinch
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Bay leaves /clove /blackpepper 1 tsp
  • coriander leaves a handfull
  • oil
  • Malai /cream little

How to make Daal makhni

  1. Boil rajma 1/4 cup and urad daal 1 cup soaking overnight in a cooker
  2. Now in a kadai heat ghee or butter then crackle cumin seeds add bay leaves hing then onion paste.when it is cooked add ginger garlic paste and cook again for 5 -10 minutes.
  3. Add tomato puree to it and cook again till the ghee separates from the side.
  4. When tomatoes are cooked properly put the cooked daal and rajma in it and let it cook again for few minutes.
  5. Garnish with chopped coriander and cream/malai
