Ingredients to make moong dal halwa

  • moong dal 1bowl
  • ghee 1bowl
  • water 2bowl
  • pinch of kesar soaked in warm milk
  • cardmom powder half tsp
  • sugar 1bowl
  • badam and pistachio flakes

How to make moong dal halwa

  1. clean moong dal on dry towel
  2. keep everything ready
  3. grind moong dal coarsely like semolina
  4. it should be like this
  5. add ghee in deep pan
  6. let it become warm
  7. now add grinded moong dal
  8. mix this properly with spatula
  9. mix with a interval of 2-3 minutes
  10. do everything on slow flame
  11. it will take atleast 10 minutes to roast dal
  12. you will see bubbles above ghee
  13. means there is still time
  14. now take water in another pan
  15. keep for boiling
  16. dal will turn little golden
  17. nice aroma will be surrounded
  18. you need this color
  19. now add hot water
  20. after adding water it will be like this
  21. now add sugar
  22. now add cardmom powder
  23. add kesar
  24. cook for sometime
  25. cook till it doesn't leave ghee from side
  26. this is final product
  27. switch off flame
  28. add pistachio and badam flakes
  29. halwa is ready
My Tip: Ghee and sugar can be adjusted you can reduce the quantity
