ABOUT Gulab Ka sharbat (Roohafza) RECIPE

In this extreme season of heat, a glass of Rose Sharbat can help cool down your body and mind. In this time of the year, Rose flower is available in abundance and this is the best time to make Rose sharbat drink.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Dried Rose Petals - around 30 roses
  2. Tulsi Leaves- -20-25 leaves
  3. Mint Leaves- -20-25 leaves
  4. Small Cardamom - 5-6
  5. Sugar 1 kg (5 cup)
  6. Lemon  - 4
  7. Red colour (optional)
  8. Rose essence (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the rose petals two times with water and clean them. Filter the left over water with a filterer and place the petals on a clean cloth.
  2. Boil 1 cup water, add rose petals and the let it boil for five minutes
  3. Boil until leaves leave the colour and turn white.
  4. Strain the rose water in a clean bowl.
  5. Wash tulsi leaves and mint leaves. Now add the leaves in a bowl filled with 1 cup of water and boil it. Let it boil for 3-4 minutes on medium flame. Turn off the flame and let it cool. Now again sieve the mixture and take out the juice from it in a separate container.
  6. Mix mint water and rose water, add sugar and cardamom to it.
  7. Boil for 20 minutes on a slow flame or until syrup becomes thick.
  8. Let it cool and fill it in bottles. Your homemade sharbat is ready.
