Ingredients to make Gulab Ka sharbat (Roohafza)

  • Dried Rose Petals - around 30 roses
  • Tulsi Leaves- -20-25 leaves
  • Mint Leaves- -20-25 leaves
  • Small Cardamom - 5-6
  • Sugar 1 kg (5 cup)
  • Lemon  - 4
  • Red colour (optional)
  • Rose essence (optional)

How to make Gulab Ka sharbat (Roohafza)

  1. Wash the rose petals two times with water and clean them. Filter the left over water with a filterer and place the petals on a clean cloth.
  2. Boil 1 cup water, add rose petals and the let it boil for five minutes
  3. Boil until leaves leave the colour and turn white.
  4. Strain the rose water in a clean bowl.
  5. Wash tulsi leaves and mint leaves. Now add the leaves in a bowl filled with 1 cup of water and boil it. Let it boil for 3-4 minutes on medium flame. Turn off the flame and let it cool. Now again sieve the mixture and take out the juice from it in a separate container.
  6. Mix mint water and rose water, add sugar and cardamom to it.
  7. Boil for 20 minutes on a slow flame or until syrup becomes thick.
  8. Let it cool and fill it in bottles. Your homemade sharbat is ready.
