French toast is very popular in everyone's house, today I have given a twist of desi taste using masala mashed potato as spread and egg as dip. Must try recipe for kid's lunch box

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Whole Meal Bread Slices:- 6 nos
  2. Potato:- 2 nos boiled and mashed
  3. Onion:- 1 finely chopped
  4. Tomato:- 1 finely chopped
  5. Turmeric powder;- 1tsp
  6. Chilly powder:- 1 tbsp
  7. Asafetida (hing):- 1/2 tsp
  8. Butter for toasting in pan or tawa
  9. Cummin Seeds:- 1 tsp
  10. Salt:- as per your taste
  11. Sugar:- 1tsp
  12. Milk 1/2 cup
  13. EGG:2 Nos
  14. Coriander leaves:- handful chopped finely

Instructions

  1. For Masala mashed potato:-
  2. Heat butter or ghee in a pan add cummin seeds, hing and fry for 3 secs add onion and fry until it turns nice brown in color, add tomato, salt and sugar stir nicely cover the lid and cook until tomato turns mushy
  3. Add turmeric powder,chilly powder and stir for 3 sec and add potato, coriander leaves and mix until potato incorporates with all masala
  4. Remove from stove and set aside and do not switch off stove as we need to continue toasting bread in another pan
  5. Heat tawa or pan spread some butter, meanwhile mix your egg, milk, salt and sugar beat nicely until you see bubbles on top
  6. Take one bread slice spread masala mashed potato nicely spreading every corner of bread, dip this bread in egg batter and place it in tawa and cook in low flame, flip other side and cook for few minute press softly with the help of spatula
  7. Cook in a low flame flipping continuously to both side to make our bread little crispy
  8. Serve hot with tea
