Ingredients to make Arvi/Colocasia takatak/spicy Arvi masala

  • Arvi/Colocasia 1/2 kg
  • ajwain /carom seeds 1 tbsp
  • lemon juice 2 tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • coriander powder 1 tbsp
  • chopped green chili 1 tbsp
  • chopped coriander 1 tbsp
  • dry mango powder 1/2 tbsp
  • turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • red chili powder 2 tsp
  • oil 2 tbsp
  • finely chopped onion 1 large
  • black pepper powder 1/4 tsp

How to make Arvi/Colocasia takatak/spicy Arvi masala

  1. Wash and hard boil the Arvi, peel and cut into twos.
  2. Heat the oil (you can also use desi ghee) add carom seed, saute the onions.
  3. Add green chili, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder and cook it for 2 minutes, add arvi and mix well in the spices.
  4. Add mango powder, black pepper powder, lemon juice and cook for 5 minutes with stirring.
  5. Switch off the flame, garnish with coriander. Serve hot with paratha.
