ABOUT Tandoori Chicken RECIPE

One of the most popular Indian restaurant dish that can be prepared at home in barbecue, oven or grill. The yogurt, spices and over night marination makes the chicken delicious and tender. This low fat and healthy dish has become my family favourite. Best enjoyed with salad, hot rotis or any Indian bread.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Chicken drumsticks - 6
  2. Hung curd - 1/2 cup
  3. Tomato paste - 3 tsp
  4. Lemon juice - 3 tsp or 1/2 lemon
  5. MDH Tandoori masala - 1 1/2 tsp
  6. Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  7. Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. Chilly powder - 1/2 - 3/4 tsp
  10. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  11. Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  12. Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
  13. Food colour - 2 pinches
  14. Oil - 3 tsp
  15. Salt - according to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash the chicken pieces thoroughly and put it on a strainer for all the excess water to drain. Make deep cuts in each chicken piece. Keep aside.
  2. Mix all the ingredients well, check for the spice level. . Brush this marinate to chicken and refrigerate for minimum 3 hours.
  3. Pre - heat the oven to 200 degrees C for 15 minutes. Brush the grilling tray with few drops of oil to avoid chicken sticking to the tray.
  4. Cook for approximately 12 to 15 minutes on each side. It depends on the chicken. So cooking time can be adjusted.
  5. Sprinkle chat masala.
