Tandoori Chicken

Ingredients to make Tandoori Chicken

  • Chicken drumsticks - 6
  • Hung curd - 1/2 cup
  • Tomato paste - 3 tsp
  • Lemon juice - 3 tsp or 1/2 lemon
  • MDH Tandoori masala - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Chilly powder - 1/2 - 3/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
  • Food colour - 2 pinches
  • Oil - 3 tsp
  • Salt - according to taste

How to make Tandoori Chicken

  1. Wash the chicken pieces thoroughly and put it on a strainer for all the excess water to drain. Make deep cuts in each chicken piece. Keep aside.
  2. Mix all the ingredients well, check for the spice level. . Brush this marinate to chicken and refrigerate for minimum 3 hours.
  3. Pre - heat the oven to 200 degrees C for 15 minutes. Brush the grilling tray with few drops of oil to avoid chicken sticking to the tray.
  4. Cook for approximately 12 to 15 minutes on each side. It depends on the chicken. So cooking time can be adjusted.
  5. Sprinkle chat masala.
My Tip: For better results, I marinate the chicken the previous day and refrigerate.
