ABOUT SALMON CAKES RECIPE

It is not unknown to fish lovers that Salmon is one the most nutrient, delicious and meaty fish. The luscious pink color which when cooked turns nice peachy and dense filling up your appetite . This time I decided to push the boundaries and cook some moist and dense cakes instead of just pan smearing them and serving with veggies and potato or peas mash. They are delicious and when served was asked if I served some kind of kebab to them. It’s a simple recipe with readily available ingredients.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Salmon Fish Fillet (250 grams)
  2. 1 egg
  3. 1 potato peeled and grated
  4. 1 tbsp garlic
  5. 1 big onion chopped
  6. 1 small capsicum chopped
  7. 1 green chili chopped
  8. 1 tsp fresh ground pepper
  9. Salt to taste
  10. 1 tbsp cheese
  11. 3 to 4 tbsp cornflour
  12. oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.
  2. Add green chili, garlic and cook for a minute.
  3. Add onions and capsicum and cook for some time.
  4. Add salt and cook till capsicum turns soft.
  5. Let it cool down.
  6. Remove skin for the salmon fillet and chop finely with a sharp knife.
  7. Add to a mixing bowl.
  8. Break an egg
  9. Add the onion and capsicum mix.
  10. Add cheese, grated potatoes, corn flour and black pepper.
  11. Let this mixture rest in fridge for half an hour.
  12. Make small cakes and arrange in a tray.
  13. Heat oil in the grill pan and cook the cakes on both sides till nice and crisp.
  14. Serve with sauce and salad of your choice.
