Ingredients to make Fish Nawabi

  • Fresh pieces of fish 1/2 kg
  • Garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Ginger paste 2 tbsp
  • Chilli paste 2 tsp
  • Hung curd 1 cup
  • Fried onion 1/2 cup
  • Lime juice 2 tsp
  • salt as per taste
  • Kewra water 4-5 drops
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • Fresh coriander for garnishing
  • Mustard oil as required

How to make Fish Nawabi

  1. Marinate the fish with lime juice, salt, red chilli powder and a pinch of turmeric powder for 1/2 an hour.
  2. In a bowl add ginger paste, garlic paste and green chilli paste, salt, hung curd and mix all the ingredients.
  3. Add fried onions, lemon juice, garam masala, kewra water and at the end add the marinated fish. Pour 3 tsp of cooked mustard oil.
  4. Take a clay pot, add the prepared fish, cover the lid with wheat flour dough. Cook the fish for 20-25 minutes.
  5. Now serve the hot Fish Nawabi with chapati or rice. Garnish with fresh coriander and lime wedges.
My Tip: If you will cook on coal, it will give an awesome taste.
