ABOUT Atta Halwa RECIPE

Back to basics ;-). My all time favorite "Atta Halwa" (Halwa made from whole wheat flour) !

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Whole Wheat Flour: ¼ cup
  2. Clarified butter (Ghee): 1 tbsp
  3. Water: 1 ½ cups
  4. Sugar: 1/4 cup
  5. Cardamom: 2 (peeled and pounded)
  6. Almond slivers: 2-3 tbsp

Instructions

  1. In a heavy bottomed pan heat ghee.
  2. Add atta and mix well. Stir continuously for about 10-12 minutes or until fragrance starts coming out from the flour and it has turned dark brown.
  3. Add boiling hot water to it. (Be careful while adding hot water as it splutters)
  4. Mix well and make sure that no lumps remain.
  5. Add sugar and mix well. Stir continuously until the sugar has melted completely.
  6. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  7. Add almonds and mix well.
  8. Let the halwa simmer for a few minutes.
  9. Garnish with almond slivers and serve hot.
  10. Yummy “Atta Halwa” is ready!
