Ingredients to make Gobhi Mussalam

  • cauliflower 1
  • curd 11/4 cup
  • garlic 2 tsp
  • ginger 2 tsp
  • cumin powder 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • coriander powder 2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • onion 1 large
  • tomato 1
  • Green chilli 1
  • Broken cashew nuts 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder 1/2 tsp

How to make Gobhi Mussalam

  1. Wash the cauliflower and remove outer leaves and cut the base to have flat base.
  2. In a pan boil water to cover cauliflower. Add turmeric powder 1/2 tsp and salt in water. Place the cauliflower and cook for 10 mins. Don't overcook.
  3. Take a bowl and add curd, cumin powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garlic, ginger, and salt and mix well.
  4. Marinate the above mixture over the cauliflower inside out.
  5. Take a kadhai and heat oil then add onion, garlic, ginger, green chilli and cashew nuts and saute for few mins. Now add coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and mix well.
  6. Take the onion mixture and transfer to blender and add tomato and grind to form paste.
  7. Transfer the paste to the kadhai and also add leftover marination part and mix and cook.
  8. Cook until oil separates. Now add water and salt and cook. Once gravy get thickens add garam masala and mix well. Now place the marinated cauliflower into this gravy.
  9. Cook for few more minutes. Garnish and Serve.
