Home made Granola

Ingredients to make Home made Granola

  • 2 cups oats
  • ½ cup wheat bran
  • ½ cup oat bran
  • 1 /2 cup slivered almonds
  • ½ cup mixed roast seeds
  • 1/2 cup shredded sweet coconut
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp all spice
  •  cup melted jaggery
  • 2 tsp water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup raisin
  • ½ cup prunes
  • ½ cup figs

How to make Home made Granola

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 120 degree centigrade
  2. 2. In a large bowl, combine the oats, wheat bran,oat bran nuts, cinnamon, all spice coconut and salt
  3. 3. In a saucepan melt jaggery with the help of water. Once it has melted pour it into the oat mixture and add the oil. Mix well.
  4. 4. Transfer into a oven tin line with butter paper and make sure it is evenly distributed. Bake on low heat for 45 minutes to an hour. The granola will look soft when you take it out but it will crispen up a bit. Make sure you get them together in clusters.
  5. 5. Remove transfer into a large bowl. Add raisins, figs and prunes and mix until evenly distributed.
  6. 6. Let it cool before you store into a large jar.

My Tip:

For a more intense and earthy flavour use good quality maple syrup instead of jaggery
