Ingredients to make Baseema

  • 5 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cup APF
  • 1 cup Icing sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 500g Yoghurt /Curd
  • 3/4 cup dessicated coconut
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • For the syrup :
  • 1 1 / 2 cup sugar
  • 1 Cup water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

How to make Baseema

  1. Prepare the sugar syrup by mixing all the ingredients given under sugar syrup.Let it boil until the sugar melts.Set aside.
  2. Preheat the oven @ 180° C. Grease a cake tin.
  3. Beat together the eggs and icing sugar until pale and frothy.Add in butter,oil,yoghurt and vanilla.
  4. Sieve the flour & baking powder.Gently fold this into the wet ingredients along with coconut.Pour this into the prepared tin.
  5. Bake for 35 -40 min or until the inserted toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Once the cake is out,immediately pour the syrup all over the cake.Slice it & enjoy!
