Ingredients to make Punjabi rajma masala

  • 1 cup Rajma
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • 2 tbs chopped green chillies
  • 1 inch piece of ginger
  • 4to5 minced garlic
  • 2 bay leaves, cinnamon stick,
  • 3 to 4 cloves
  • Salt according to taste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Pinch of hing
  • Some chopped coriander
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • Garam Masala
  • 3 tbs cream

How to make Punjabi rajma masala

  1. Soak rajma overnight and boil it in pressure cooker with 4 to 5 whistles with bay leaves and cinnamon sticks..Add 1 TBS oil and salt. And pressure cooker it.
  2. In a frying pan add 2 TBS oil .Add cumin seeds and hing into it add ginger garlic paste and saute for few minutes..Now fry onions till they are translucent and add chopped tomatoes till the oil separates from the mixture .At this stage add all the dry spices. Now add little mashed rajma in it and simmer it for 15 to 20 minutes at low flame .. Finish it with cream and lemon juice and chopped coriander..Taada ur rajma masala is ready
My Tip: Boil the rajma till it is properly cooked and mushy..
