Moong Dal Dahi wadas

Ingredients to make Moong Dal Dahi wadas

  • Green moon dal 4 muthi (I take a handful)
  • Kotmir 1 handfull
  • mint few sprigs
  • garlic 6 to 8 pods
  • onion 1
  • salt
  • Thick curd 2 cups
  • butter milk
  • curd 2 tbsp
  • Zeera pwdr
  • salt
  • pepper pwdr
  • Tempering
  • Rai 1/2 tsp
  • curry leaves few
  • red chillies dry 2 to 3
  • red chilli pwdr a pinch
  • Handful of chopped kotmir
  • imli chutney 3 to 4 tbsp

How to make Moong Dal Dahi wadas

  1. Soak the dal over night
  2. Then in the morning take dal, kothmir(coriander), pudina, green chillies, garlic, onion and grind to a smooth paste.
  3. Do not add water
  4. Take Appe pan and make wadas with 1 to 2 drops of oil
  5. Cook both sides till golden
  6. Make thin butter milk with 2 tbsp dahi, jeera powder, salt and black pepper. Add 2 cups of water.
  7. Drop the wadas in it
  8. Take thick curd and beat well add jeera powder and salt
  9. Add the soaked wadas and mix well.
  10. FOR TEMPERING: Take a small pan add oil, rai, curry leaves, red chillies and little red chilli powder
  11. Add this to the thick curd
  12. Garnish with chopped kothmir and imli chutney.

My Tip:

Soaking the wadas in buttermilk makes them soft. Pictures in steps are for showing purpose
