Capsicum Raita

Ingredients to make Capsicum Raita

  • Fresh curd - 1 cup
  • oil - 2 teaspoon
  • mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • onion - 1 small
  • capsicum - 1 small
  • green chillies - 1-2
  • Green coriander leaves - 1-2 tablespoons
  • red chilli powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • cumin powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • rock salt - 1 teaspoon
  • salt - as per taste

How to make Capsicum Raita

  1. Rinse and finely chopped capsicum, onion and green chilies. Keep aside.
  2. Take 1 cup fresh curd in a bowl.
  3. Whisk curd till smooth.
  4. When it becomes creamy keep aside.
  5. Heat oil in a small pan. Add mustard seeds and let them crackle.
  6. Now add onion and green chilies in the pan. Keep flame on low. Stirring often, saute for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Then add capsicum.
  8. Mix well with onions till capsicum are half done it takes approx 5 minutes.
  9. Then switch off the flame and add red chilli powder, cumin powder and salt.
  10. Mix well.
  11. Pour the mixture in the curd and add coriander leaves and rock salt.
  12. Mix everything well and serve.

My Tip:

You also can add chopped curry leaves along with onions, if you want.
