Cranberry Raspberry Buttermilk icecream

Ingredients to make Cranberry Raspberry Buttermilk icecream

  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries for garnishing
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream ( I used 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of heavy cream)
  • Toppings. it tastes best with honey, walnuts, almonds, chocolate sauce, fresh mint sprigs, fresh raspberries, dried cranberries. anything and everything.

How to make Cranberry Raspberry Buttermilk icecream

  1. Take cranberries, raspberries, and sugar in a bowl. let it rest for 2 hours. Blend it nicely in a food processor or a blender until smooth. You can strain the puree if you don't like the grainy feel ( I didn't strain as I like it that way)
  2. Now add buttermilk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and heavy cream ( I used Amul dairy whipping cream, you can use non-diary or any cream of your choice)
  3. Blend well for 2-5 minutes. Garnish it with cranberries and freeze for min 9 hours.
My Tip: If you skip heavy cream, you can make it into a sorbet. So double dhamaka ..enjoy:)
