ABOUT Dudhi thepla RECIPE

These are soft theplas prepared from bottle gourd or lauki and curd. This can be given in tiffin to kids also as it is nutritious as well as remains soft even after it becomes cold.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Wheat flour- 2 cups
  2. Dudhi/ lauki- 1 cup chopped
  3. Curd- 1/2 cup
  4. Ginger- 1 inch
  5. Green Chilli- 1
  6. Garlic- 8 cloves
  7. Salt
  8. Turmeric- 1/2 tsp
  9. Chilli powder- 1 tsp
  10. oil- 1 tbsp
  11. Coriander- 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Take ginger, garlic, chillies, chopped dudhi and curd in a mixer jar.
  2. Grind to a fine paste.
  3. Now take flour in a big bowl and add this paste along with all spices to the flour.
  4. Knead a soft dough. If needed, add more yogurt. No need to add water.This keeps the theplas soft as well as provides nutrition.
  5. Cover and keep for 10 minutes and then roll out theplas like roti and roast on tawa with oil.
  6. Serve hot with curd, chutney, sauce and pickle.
