ABOUT Rasiya muthiya RECIPE

These are soft dumplings made from cooked rice and bottlegourd cooked in curd curry.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. FOR MUTHIYA:-
  2. Cooked rice-1 cup
  3. Grated lauki-1 cup
  4. Wheat flour-1/2 cup
  5. Besan-1/2 cup
  6. Ginger,garlic, green chilli paste-1 tsp
  7. Turmeric-1/2 tsp
  8. Chilli powder-1 tsp
  9. Salt
  10. Soda-1 pinch
  11. Oil-1 spoon
  12. FOR CURRY:
  13. Curd-1 cup
  14. Besan-1 tbsp
  15. Garlic-5 cloves
  16. Asafoetida
  17. Turmeric-1/2 tsp
  18. Chilli powder-1 tsp
  19. Salt
  20. Curry leaves-10
  21. Dried Red chilli-2
  22. Rai-1 tsp
  23. Jeera-1 tsp
  24. Water-2 cups
  25. Coriander for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Take cooked rice, grated lauki, both the flours, ginger garlic paste and rest of ingredients for muthiya in a big bowl.
  2. Knead a soft dough.
  3. Now take curd, besan, salt, turmeric, red chilli powder and blend.
  4. Take a pan and add oil to it. Add rai, jeera, garlic, curry leaves and dried chilli
  5. Now pour the curd curry in the pan and stir.
  6. In the meanwhile prepare small cylindrical muthiyas from the dough.
  7. As the curry starts simmering, keep gas on medium flame and start putting the muthiya one by one.
  8. Cook for 7 to 10 minutes and you will see the muthiya floating on top of curry.You can add water in between if you feel that the curry is thick.
  9. Take out a muthiya and see whether it is cooked from inside and then turn off the gas. Garnish with coriander.
  10. Enjoy this one pot meal hot.
