Ingredients to make Rasiya muthiya

  • FOR MUTHIYA:-
  • Cooked rice-1 cup
  • Grated lauki-1 cup
  • Wheat flour-1/2 cup
  • Besan-1/2 cup
  • Ginger,garlic, green chilli paste-1 tsp
  • Turmeric-1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder-1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Soda-1 pinch
  • Oil-1 spoon
  • FOR CURRY:
  • Curd-1 cup
  • Besan-1 tbsp
  • Garlic-5 cloves
  • Asafoetida
  • Turmeric-1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder-1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Curry leaves-10
  • Dried Red chilli-2
  • Rai-1 tsp
  • Jeera-1 tsp
  • Water-2 cups
  • Coriander for garnishing

How to make Rasiya muthiya

  1. Take cooked rice, grated lauki, both the flours, ginger garlic paste and rest of ingredients for muthiya in a big bowl.
  2. Knead a soft dough.
  3. Now take curd, besan, salt, turmeric, red chilli powder and blend.
  4. Take a pan and add oil to it. Add rai, jeera, garlic, curry leaves and dried chilli
  5. Now pour the curd curry in the pan and stir.
  6. In the meanwhile prepare small cylindrical muthiyas from the dough.
  7. As the curry starts simmering, keep gas on medium flame and start putting the muthiya one by one.
  8. Cook for 7 to 10 minutes and you will see the muthiya floating on top of curry.You can add water in between if you feel that the curry is thick.
  9. Take out a muthiya and see whether it is cooked from inside and then turn off the gas. Garnish with coriander.
  10. Enjoy this one pot meal hot.
My Tip: This is best way to use your leftover rice or khichdi and ideal dinner recipe.
