ABOUT Dangar Pachadi / Urad Dal Flour Raita RECIPE

Wheneve rI had leftover urad dal flour I would love to make this pachadi. Its a simple dish and easy to prepare. It can be paired up with Vatha kuzhambu and Rasam rice.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Whole White Urad Dal - 1 tbsp
  2. Thick Curd - 1 cup
  3. Salt- to taste
  4. Oil - 1 tsp
  5. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  6. Hing - 1/4 tsp
  7. Curry leaves - 1 sprig
  8. Green chillies - 1 (finely chopped)

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan and dry roast the urad dal until it turns golden brown. Switch off the flame and allow to cool. Once it cools grind it in a mixie to a fine powder.
  2. Take a bowl whisk the curd with salt and roasted urad dal powder without any lumps.
  3. If you feel the pachadi is too thick then adjust with required water to make right consistency.
  4. Heat oil in pan, add mustard seeds, once it splutter add hing, chopped green chillies and curry leaves. pour the tadka in pachadi.
  5. Now the delicious pachadi is ready to serve.
