Guvar dhokli

Ingredients to make Guvar dhokli

  • Guvar/ cluster beans- 150 gms
  • Garlic 2-3 cloves
  • Wheat flour- 1 cup
  • Salt- to taste
  • Oil 3 tablespoon
  • Pickle masala 1 tablespoon
  • Turmeric powder 2 teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder 2 teaspoon
  • Carom seeds/ ajwain 2 teaspoon
  • Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Green chilies 2 minced
  • Water 3 cups

How to make Guvar dhokli

  1. Wash and clean cluster beans, remove both ends and cut them in to half (I have used frozen ones)
  2. In one big mixing bowl take flour add 1 teaspoon oil, salt, 1 teaspoon carom seeds,1 teaspoon turmeric powder and 1 teaspoon chili powder, mix well and prepare a soft chapati dough.
  3. Now heat oil in pressure cooker add mustard seeds and cumin seeds, when it splutters add chopped garlic and minced green chillies, cook for a while.
  4. Then add cluster beans and all the spices, salt, chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander and cumin powder and pickle masala, mix well, add 3 cups of water cover it and cook for 5-6 mins.
  5. Now take a ball size dough roll it and make a big size chapati, not too thick not too thin, then apply oil on the top and cut it in to the square pieces.
  6. Then add all the rolled dhokli into the cooker one by one , remember the side on which we have applied oil should be on the top, so that they don't stick onto one another.
  7. Add all the dhokli, close the pressure cooker lid and cook for 2-3 whistle.
  8. Then switch off the burner and allow the pressure to release by its own.
  9. Take it in the plate garnish it with coriander leaves, yummy guvar dhokli is ready to be serve.
