Ingredients to make Low Fat Double Chocolate Yoghurt Cake

  • 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup castor sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3/4 cup yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence/ extract
  • 1/4 cup choco chips
  • 1/4 cup warm water

How to make Low Fat Double Chocolate Yoghurt Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease and line one 8x4 inch loaf pan or one 8 inch round cake pan
  2. Whisk together first five ingredients. Sift cocoa before adding to avoid lumps if any.
  3. In another large bowl, beat curd till smooth.
  4. Beat egg separately and add to curd.
  5. Add sugar, olive oil, vanilla essence and beat till you get a smooth mixture
  6. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients in three shifts adding a little warm water each time and stirring to get a smooth batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle choco chips evenly
  8. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove from the oven when done. Remove from the pan after 5 minutes.
  10. Slice when cold.
