Banana Curd Chutney Recipe or Aratikaya Perugu Pachadi

Ingredients to make Banana Curd Chutney Recipe or Aratikaya Perugu Pachadi

  • 1 Medium Size Raw banana
  • 1 Cup Curd or yogurt
  • 2tsp water
  • salt to taste
  • 1tsp mustard seeds
  • 3tsp oil
  • 3-4 curry leaves
  • 1/2tsp Hing or asafoetida
  • 1 Chopped green chilly
  • 1 Inch ginger
  • 1/4 Chopped onion
  • 2tbsp coriander Leaves
  • salt to taste

How to make Banana Curd Chutney Recipe or Aratikaya Perugu Pachadi

  1. In a raw banana add salt and 2-3tsp of water and pressure cook for 2-3 whistles
  2. Let it cool down and remove the skin of cooked banana.
  3. Mash the cooked banana when they are still warm. Let it cool compeletly.
  4. Heat the pan with 3tsp of oil.
  5. Add mustard seeds, hing and curry leaves.
  6. Saute well, and allow to splutter.
  7. Furthermore, add ginger, green chilly and onions.
  8. Saute till they turn slightly golden brown.
  9. Transfer the tempering over mashed raw banana.
  10. Add salt to taste and coriander leaves.
  11. Mix well making sure everything is combined well. Add more curd if required to adjust consistency.
  12. Finally, serve Raw Banana Curd Chutney with hot rice or with chapati.

My Tip:

Add fresh curd or yogurt only after banana has completely cooled.
