Ingredients to make Rajasthani Gatta Sabji

  • For gatta
  • 1 cup besan or gramflour
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Asafoetida
  • 1 tsp red chilly powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • For gravy
  • 1 cup curd
  • 2 to 3 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp red chilly powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1tsp hing
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 spring of curry leaves
  • 2 green chilies cut into small pieces
  • Coriander leaves

How to make Rajasthani Gatta Sabji

  1. Take gram flour in a bowl and add all ingredients for gatta and mix it properly
  2. Now knead a soft dough by adding very little water.
  3. In a pan, Add 2 glass of water and bring it to boil.
  4. Meanwhile, make small balls and then shape it into cylindrical and add them into boiling water and boil gattas for a while.
  5. once boiled, cut the gattas into small pieces with a knife.
  6. In a pan take oil add hing, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and green chillies
  7. Add gattas, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, coriander powder and salt
  8. Add little water and bring it to boil
  9. Now heat the curd and add in it with continue stirring till it come to a boil
  10. Switch off the flame sprinkle coriander leaves and serve hot with roti .
My Tip: Always knead gatta dough very lightly with your finger tips, this helps to make it supersoft.
