ABOUT Idli Dahi chaat ( With veggies & Moong ) RECIPE

Simple Idlis presented in a lovely way !!!! This dish is a healthy and refreshing breakfast option. Really mouth watering and must try recipe. I have used Idlis which are full of veggies.

Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. Fresh cooked and cooled Idlis ( cooked idlis with peas, carrot and cashewnut pieces ) 4 nos.
  2. Curd 1 cup
  3. Sugar as per taste
  4. Whole/sprouted moong dal cooked 4-5 tbsp
  5. Green chutney ( coriander leaves + mint leaves = 1 cup, 4 garlic pods, 1 green chiily, small half onion, salt and sugar as per taste. Gather together and with little water grind into a fine paste) as required.
  6. Dates-tamarind chutney ( Dates deseeded- 1 cup soaked in lukewarm water, Tamarind -1/4 cup soak in little water for 5 minutes then squeeze the tamarind in water and use that water for chutney, jaggery-1/4 cup, 1 1/2 tsp coriander seeds powder, 3/4 tsp cumin seeds powder, red chilly powder and salt as per taste. Gather together and grind to a fine paste ) as required
  7. Nylon sev/Barik sev as required
  8. Masala peanuts few
  9. Chaat masala 1/4 tsp
  10. Red chilli powder 1-2 pinch
  11. Black pepper powder a pinch ( for garnish )
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Coriander leaves finely chopped (for garnish)
  14. Pomegranate seeds to garnish

Instructions

  1. First make Veggie Idlis. For that, mix peas small cubes carrot and cashew nuts in idli batter. Keep some veggies aside to decorate idlis. Just sprinkle those veggies on idlis before steaming. Take such 4 idlis in a plate.
  2. Chop each idli in 4 cubes
  3. Add sugar and salt in curd to make it sweet( as per your taste ).
  4. In a plate arrange idli cubes. Pour curd generously on idlis. sprinkle black pepper powder and red chilli powder.
  5. Add cooked moong on cubes and all over the plate. sprinkle chaat masala.
  6. Add both chutneys too.
  7. Add masala peanuts.
  8. Sprinkle generously nylon sev, coriander leaves and pomegranate seeds.
  9. Serve immediately.
  10. Note :- You can add any veggies in idli like beans, cauliflower etc. I have used fresh steamed idlis for this chat. But we can use left over idlis also ( just fry leftover ldlis in little oil, rest process is same. )
