Fiery Red Chicken in Yoghurt Sauce

Ingredients to make Fiery Red Chicken in Yoghurt Sauce

  • Chicken with bone - 750 gms
  • To marinate:
  • Dry Kashmiri Red Chillies- 6-7 nos
  • Cardamom- 3-4 nos
  • Cinnamon- 1/2 inch stick
  • Cumin seeds- 1/2 tablespoon
  • Garlic- 10-12 cloves
  • Ginger- 1/2 inch piece
  • Vinegar- 1-2 tablespoon
  • For gravy:
  • Onion- 2 medium (thinly Sliced)
  • Yogurt- 1/2 cup
  • Red chilli powder- 1 tablespoon ( adjust as per your taste)
  • Coriander Powder- 1/2 tablespoon
  • Turmeric Powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam Masala- 1-2 teaspoon
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Oil - 2-3 tablespoon
  • Coriander leaves for garnish

How to make Fiery Red Chicken in Yoghurt Sauce

  1. Prepare the marinade by blending all the ingredients mentioned for marination in a mixer jar.
  2. Apply the prepared marinade mixture to the chicken and let it rest in refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
  3. Now in a deep bottom pan or kadai heat oil on high flame and saute the onions till golden brown.
  4. Add the marinated chicken and fry for 3-4 mins.Now add turmeric, coriander and red chilli powder. Continue frying for another 2-3 mins or till oil separates.
  5. Finally add 1/2 cup of yoghurt and salt as per taste. Cover and cook on low flame for 20-25 mins or till the chicken is completely cooked.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
My Tip: If you wish you can add potatoes for extra added flavour..
