Ingredients to make Moong pakode

  • 1 cup yellow soaked moong dal
  • 2 green chilies chopped roughly
  • 1/2 inch ginger chopped
  • 1 pinch hing
  • 1 tsp kali mirch
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Salt as required.
  • Oil for deep frying.

How to make Moong pakode

  1. Grind the soaked moong dal with chilli, ginger, hing, salt and make a smooth paste.
  2. Crush the black pepper and coriander seeds in a mortar pestle and add into the paste.
  3. Stir the batter vigorously for few minutes
  4. Heat oil in pan, drop spoonful of moong mix and fry till it becomes brown and crispy.
  5. Drain the moong dal fritters on paper napkin to remove excess oil. Serve the moong pakode with green and tamarind chutney.
