ABOUT Pyaazi basil dahi paneer RECIPE

This is mild basil flavored paneer recipe in an onion yogurt gravy.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Onion 2 medium
  2. Garlic clove 3
  3. Dried basil 1 teaspoon
  4. Pepper 1 teaspoon
  5. Carom seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Clove 4-5
  7. Cinnamon stick 1 inch
  8. Bay leaf 1
  9. Curd 3/4 cup
  10. Besan 1 tablespoon
  11. Fresh cream 2 tablespoon
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Refined oil

Instructions

  1. Pressure cook onion, garlic, clove, cinnamon and bay leaf for 1 whistle.
  2. Once it cools down grind to fine paste.
  3. To a kadai add oil, add carom seeds, followed by the onion paste.
  4. After a minute add besan and mix well, this is to prevent the curd from curdling.
  5. Slowly add the beaten curd and stir continuously.
  6. Mix everything well. Add salt, pepper and basil.
  7. Add paneer pieces.
  8. Simmer on low flame for 5 to 7 minutes till the raw smell of curd goes.
  9. Add cream and turn of the flame.
  10. Serve it after an hour keeping it covered for a while for the flavors to blend in.
