Instant microwave dhoklas

Ingredients to make Instant microwave dhoklas

  • Besan- 1 cup
  • Rawa- 2 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Ginger chilli paste- 1 tsp
  • Sugar- 1 tbsp
  • Citric acid crystals- 1 /2 tsp
  • Eno fruit salt- 1 sachet
  • For tempering:-
  • Oil- 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds- 2 tsp
  • Sesame seeds- 2 tsp
  • Green chillies- 2 chopped in 1/2 inch pcs
  • Water- 2 tbsp
  • For garnishing:-
  • Grated coconut
  • Chopped Coriander

How to make Instant microwave dhoklas

  1. Take a bowl and add all ingredients for dhokla except Eno.
  2. Add water gradually and keep mixing to form a thick batter.
  3. Now add eno and a spoon of water and lightly mix in to the batter. You will see that batter becomes light and fluffy.
  4. Immediately pour into greased microwave safe flat plate with raised edges.
  5. Microwave for 2 minutes.
  6. Check with a knife in center. If not cooked keep again for a minute. Mine were done in 3 minutes.
  7. Take them out and let them cool for 5 minutes.
  8. Cut into pieces.
  9. Remove the pieces in a serving plate and arrange.
  10. Now keep a small pan with oil on gas.
  11. When oil heats up add rai and sesame seeds. When they crackle, add green chillies and switch off the gas.
  12. Add 2 spoons water.
  13. Now pour this tempering evenly on the dhoklas.
  14. Garnish with coconut and coriander and serve with green chutney or sweet chutney.

My Tip:

Time may vary according to thickness of your batter and temperature of microwave.
