Ingredients to make Three layer special spicy cake

  • 250 gms Idli-dosa batter
  • Half cup curd
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • salt as per taste
  • For peas filling:
  • 100 gm peas
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Half tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp ginger chilli paste
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • coriander leaves
  • salt as per taste
  • For corn filling :
  • 200 gms corn
  • Half cup milk
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • Half tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • Pinch of hing
  • 1 tsp cinnamon and clove powder
  • haldi
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp green chilli paste
  • tomato sauce to spread on base
  • salt as per taste
  • For garnish:
  • Thin slices of carrot, beet, kakri, tomato, capsicum - few slices for garnising

How to make Three layer special spicy cake

  1. Take batter, salt and curd and leave for 1 hour
  2. At the time of making add oil-water-baking soda and yellow food colour. Steam till knife comes out clean.
  3. Make 3 trays of dhoklas in same size plates or afterwards can cut in same size.
  4. For peas filling---grind boiled peas with ginger, chilli and salt
  5. Heat oil and make a tadka by adding mustard seeds and til, slightly roast peas.
  6. Mix all spices and let it cool
  7. For corn filling-----
  8. Grind corn a little donor make a paste
  9. Add in milk and cook
  10. Take a pan heat oil and add rai, til, hing, cinnamon, clove powder and haldi. Add cooked corn in it and mix all spices let it cool
  11. Take 2 tsp curd, add water and whisk for soak dhokla
  12. Take 1 layer of dhoklas, spread curd, water mix and add peas filling, spread it evenly
  13. Then take 2nd layer put it on 1st again spread curd mix on it and add corn filling over it
  14. Take sauce and spread it over corn filling
  15. Then top it with 3rd layer
  16. Again spread curd mix and garnish with sliced vegetables

My Tip:

Instead of dosa batter we can make with dhokla batter also
