Mix pulse Beetroot, Onion and Tomato Uttapa.

Ingredients to make Mix pulse Beetroot, Onion and Tomato Uttapa.

  • Brown rice 3 cups (soaked overnight)
  • urad dal 1/4 cup (soaked overnight)
  • chickpeas 1/4 cup (soaked overnight)
  • rajma 1/ 4 cup (soaked overnight)
  • Whole green gram 1/4 cup (soaked overnight)
  • onion 2
  • tomato 2
  • Beetroot 1
  • Green chilli crushed 1 tsp
  • ginger grated 2 tsp
  • coriander leaves finely chopped 2 tsp
  • oil for shallow fry.

How to make Mix pulse Beetroot, Onion and Tomato Uttapa.

  1. Grind rice in mixer with minimum amount of water.
  2. Add pulses one by one and grind. Cover the batter and keep for fermentation for minimum 6 hrs.
  3. Fermentation will done according to the heat at your place.
  4. Chop onions, tomatoes. Pressure cook beetroot, grate and add
  5. Add all masala mentioned above. Mix well. Add chopped coriander leaves too.
  6. Heat 2 tsp oil and add to the batter.
  7. Heat a griddle, grease and pour a ladle full of batter. Cover and let it cook on slow flame.
  8. Flip over and cook again on medium flame till it's cooked well.
  9. Serve with sambhar / coriander coconut chutney / tomato ketchup..

My Tip:

If less fermentation then you can add Eno ( fruit salt). Can change pulse, dal combinations.
