ABOUT Kosamalli RECIPE

A traditional salad packed with the goodness of protein and fresh vegetables, a regular at every Tamil feast.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Split green gram without skin (Moong dhuli))- 1/4 cup
  2. Cucumber- 1 (small)
  3. Carrot- 1/2
  4. Green chilli- 1
  5. Coriander- few sprigs
  6. Lemon- juice of 1/2 lemon
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Water to soak the split green gram

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the split green gram (Moong dhuli) for about 45 mins.
  2. While the lentil is soaking, finely chop cucumber, coriander leaves and green chilli and place in a bowl.
  3. Wash, peel and grate the carrot and mix it with the cucumber.
  4. Place the soaked green gram in a colander and drain the water completely from it.
  5. Mix the soaked green gram with the cut vegetables.
  6. Squeeze half a lemon, add salt and mix.
  7. Serve immediately.
