ABOUT Amarkhand or Mango Shrikhand RECIPE

Amarkhand is a thick and rich creamy yogurt recipe. It's a twisted version of shrikhand with addition of mangoes and dry fruits.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 3 cups curd fresh
  2. 2 mangoes peeled and chopped
  3. 4 cardamom (elaichi) crushed
  4. 1/4 tsp of saffron strands/ kesar
  5. 1 cup powdered sugar or as required.
  6. FOR GARNISH :
  7. Some dry fruits like cashews, pistachios, almonds blanched and chopped
  8. 1 tbsp mango chunks

Instructions

  1. Hang the curd in a muslin, cheese cloth for 3-4 hours.
  2. Puree the mangoes in a blender until smooth.
  3. Add the thick hung curd to the blender along with crushed cardamom, saffron and sugar.
  4. Blend until mixture is smooth and lump free.
  5. Pour shrikhand in individual serving bowls.
  6. Chill and serve the amarkhand after garnishing with dry fruits and saffron.
  7. Goes well with pooris, parathas or you can have just like that.
