Ingredients to make Sukhdi/Gorpapdi

  • 1 bowl wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup jaggery (grated)
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 cup ghee

How to make Sukhdi/Gorpapdi

  1. Take a pan, add ghee and turn the heat low.
  2. Once ghee melted and slightly hot add wheat flour.
  3. Mix with spatula, it will be thick.
  4. Roast it with stirring constantly for 4-5 minutes till aata colour change to light brown and you will get toasted aroma of the flour.
  5. Turn off the flame, add jaggery and it will melt away
  6. Grase plate using ghee, pour the mixture into the plate.
  7. Press the mixture using back of the bowl. Add cut almond and press again.
  8. Let it cool down for 3-4 minutes.
  9. While it is warm slice into diamond shape or any other shape and size.
  10. Garnish with nuts or poppy seeds
