Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 350 grm karela (bitter guard)
  2. 200 grm hung curd
  3. 1 onion chopped
  4. 3/4 tsp ginger paste
  5. 2 tsp poppy seeds paste
  6. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  7. 1 tsp coriander powder
  8. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  9. 1 1/2 tsp tandoori masala powder
  10. 3/4 tsp cumin powder
  11. 2 tsp lemon juice
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Oil for cooking
  14. 2 tsp salt,1 turmeric powder and 2 tsp lemon juice for marinating the karela

Instructions

  1. First peel all karela, empty this, keep all seeds in other bowl and wash it.
  2. After wash take salt, turmeric powder, lemon juice and grease the karela nicely and keep aside it at least 30 min to remove it's sourness.
  3. In other side heat oil in pan add chopped onion, when translucent, add ginger paste, poppy seeds paste, tandori masala powder and red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and it's remaining seeds which is kept in other bowl and stir well.
  4. When nice smell comes add lemon juice in it mix and switch of gas and keep aside to cool.
  5. Now look for karela, wash it again nicely and keep in strainer to remove all water from it.
  6. Now take onion fry masala and mix hung curd in it and mix well, now stuff this hung curd masala in karela and pan fry it till it nicely cook and crisp.
  7. Now serve this crisp with chapati and dal.
