Very easy and tasty recipe. No tension of chopping and cutting ready in minutes. Yoghurt has given nice flavor and added taste to chicken curry. You can have it with rice, chapati, naan etc

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chicken 800 gram cut into medium size pieces
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon or to taste
  4. Oil 2 tablespoon
  5. Lemon 1 tablespoon
  6. Yogurt or thick curd 1 cup
  7. Ginger garlic paste 1 tablespoon
  8. Chicken masala 2 tablespoon
  9. Kashmiri laal mirch powder 1 teaspoon
  10. Cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Green cardamom powder 1/4 teaspoon
  12. Black pepper powder 1/4 teaspoon
  13. Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon
  14. Kasuri methi 1 teaspoon (optional)
  15. Butter 1 tablesoon
  16. Bay leaf 2
  17. Cinnamon stick 1/2 inch
  18. Capsicum cut into pieces 1 (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash chicken properly with fresh water 2-3 times under the tap.
  2. Now pat dry all the chicken pieces with a clean cotton cloth or tissue paper.
  3. Chicken marination - firstly make incisions in chicken pieces with the fork or with a knife.
  4. Now rub some salt 1/2 tsp, black pepper powder and lemon juice in all chicken pieces keep it aside for 5 minutes.
  5. Take a small bowl add in yogurt, chicken masala, cumin powder, red chilli powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, salt to taste, ginger garlic paste, 1/2 of the garam masala powder mix everything and pour this marination on chicken pieces and mix.
  6. Keep this marinated chicken inside the fridge so that all the masala flavors and juices goes inside the chicken properly.
  7. You can also prepare this marination in the morning keep it inside the fridge, whenever you want you can take out from the fridge and prepare for dinner or lunch .
  8. Take a heavy bottom pan or kadai or non stick pan will be best for this recipe.
  9. Heat a kadai and add in all the marinated chicken.
  10. Cover the lid and cook under high flame for 10 minutes .
  11. Stir in between with a wooden spatula.
  12. Now after 10 minutes open the lid and cook for another 8-10 minutes or till the chicken pieces completely cooked in curd.
  13. Don't over cook, chicken pieces should be juicy from inside .
  14. Heat another pan pour butter and add in bay leaf and cinnamon stick.
  15. Saute for a while when nice aroma start coming, add in cut capsicum pieces and saute.
  16. When raw smell of capsicum disappears add some salt to taste.
  17. Add this in ready curd chicken curry
  18. Now if you want some gravy in this chicken you can add some water and cook for another 5 minutes.
  19. Garnish with little garam masala, kasoori methi and coriander leaves and enjoy this yummy curd chicken with chapati or rice or paratha.
