Ingredients to make Cacik

  • 200 grams thick curd
  • 1 medium sized cucumber chopped finely
  • 2 cloves garlic crushed with little salt.
  • 4- 5 mint leaves chopped finely and a few to garnish.
  • 1 large cucumber to serve

How to make Cacik

  1. Mix the curd, garlic, salt and turning together and leave it in the fridge for at least an hour, to let the garlic infuse. 
  2. Peel the cucumber and cut into thick roundels.
  3. Scoop out the inside to resemble small cups.
  4. Keep in the refrigerator for fifteen minutes.
  5. Take out the garlic infused curd and the cucumber cups.
  6. Use a teaspoon to spoon in the curd into the cucumber cups.
  7. Garnish with the mint leaves. Serve chilled.
My Tip: This can be made eith a mixture of grated cucumber and carrots.
