Tandoori Gobi / Paneer

Ingredients to make Tandoori Gobi / Paneer

  • For the tandoori masala:
  • Cauliflower (gobi)- 500 grams
  • Hung curd– 1/3 cup
  • Chilly powder-- 3/4 tspn
  • Cumin powder- 1/4 tspn
  • Coriander powder- 1/4 tspn
  • Garam masala powder- 1/4 tspn
  • Pepper powder- 1/4 tspn
  • Ginger garlic paste- 1/3 tspn
  • Tandoori color – one pinch
  • Tomato puree or paste - 1 to 2 tspn
  • Oil- 1 to 2 tspn
  • Lemon juice- 2 tspn
  • MDH Tandoori masala- 1 to 2 tspn
  • Salt- according to taste
  • For green masala:
  • Gobi/ paneer – 500 grams
  • Hung curd– 1/3 cup
  • Coriander leaves– handful
  • Mint leaves– handful
  • Green chilli– 4 to 6
  • Pepper powder– 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder– 1/4 tspn
  • Nutmeg powder– two pinches
  • Lemon juice– 2 to 3 tbspn
  • Ginger garlic paste– 1/3 tspn
  • Oil– 2 tspn
  • Salt– according to taste

How to make Tandoori Gobi / Paneer

  1. Cut gobi to medium size florets. Also cut medium size cubes of paneer.
  2. Mix all ingredients mentioned under tandoori masala. Check for spice levels and adjust accordingly. Marinate gobi/ paneer for 30 minutes.
  3. Grind coriander leaves, mint leaves and green chilly to fine paste. Add this paste to hung curd and other spices mentioned. Mix well. Marinate gobi/paneer for 30 minutes.
  4. In the meantime soak skewers in water for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven for 15 minutes @ 200°C.
  6. Oil the grilling tray and arrange the skewered gobi and paneer. Cook for 15 minutes on each side or until fully cooked. The Cooking time may vary from 30 to 40 minutes.
  7. Serve hot with choice of dips and sauces or bread.

My Tip:

Ingredients and spices can be altered according to individuals taste.
