Ingredients to make Healthy marble cake (whole wheat & curd )

  • Whole wheat flour - 1 1/2 cups
  • Curd (thick) - 1 cup
  • Jaggery - 1 cup
  • Cocoa powder- 2 tsps
  • Milk- 3 tbsps
  • Ghee/ butter- 4 tbsps + 1/2 tsp for greasing
  • Nuts (cashew, badam) and raisins- a handful
  • Vanilla essence- 1/4 tsp
  • Baking powder- 1/2 tsp

How to make Healthy marble cake (whole wheat & curd )

  1. Add the whole wheat flour, baking powder and mix well
  2. Mix well the curd, jaggery and butter/ ghee and add some milk and vanilla extract to it.
  3. Now add in the whole wheat flour and baking powder mixture and stir well without any lumps.
  4. Add the nuts to it and now separate the batter into two equal halves.
  5. Now add cocoa powder to one part and mix well.
  6. Grease the cake tin and place a ladle full of cake mixture in the center area
  7. Next place a ladle full of chocolate cake mixture in the center of the already poured cake mixture.
  8. Continue this with all the cake batter and using a toothpick make patterns
  9. Now bake this for 30- 40 mins or until the toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean.
  10. (I baked this cake without an oven. I preheated the tawa with some salt for about 15 minutes in medium flame and placed the cake tin above a stand and closed it with a lid. It took about 35 minutes )
  11. The texture of this eggless whole wheat marble cake was good
