Doi Chicken (Chicken with Curd)

Ingredients to make Doi Chicken (Chicken with Curd)

  • 500gm - chicken (Boneless)
  • 100gm - curd
  • 2 pieces - onion (slices)
  • 3 tbsp - onion paste
  • 1/2 tbsp - ginger paste
  • 2 tbsp - garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp - cashew nut paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon - fenugreek (methi) seeds
  • 5-6 - whole green chilies
  • 1/2 tbsp - butter
  • sugar to taste
  • salt to taste

How to make Doi Chicken (Chicken with Curd)

  1. Marinate the chicken with curd, onion, ginger- garlic paste and a little bit of salt. Keep it in the refrigerator for minimum 2-3 hrs.
  2. Heat the butter in a pan. Add the fenugreek seeds to temper and let them splutter.
  3. Add one teaspoon of garlic paste in the pan and fry for 30 seconds.
  4. Now add the sliced garlic in the pan and fry until the onions become translucent.
  5. Add the marinated chicken, cashew paste, salt and sugar in the pan then mix it very well.
  6. Cover the pan with a lid and cook until the chicken is well cooked.
  7. Garnish with whole green chilies and serve hot.

My Tip:

Add some green chilies(slit in half) before covering the chicken with a lid and cook it, if you want to make it a little spicier.
