Black Channa Spinach Curry

Ingredients to make Black Channa Spinach Curry

  • Black channa- 100gm
  • Spianch- 150 gm
  • Onion- 1 finely chopped
  • Ginger-garlic paste- 1 tsp
  • Tomato puree- 2 tomatoes
  • Paneer crumbled- 2 tblsp
  • Coriander powder- 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala- 1/4 tsp
  • Haldi- 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil or butter 1 tbls

How to make Black Channa Spinach Curry

  1. Soak black channa overnight and pressure cook for 20 minutes.
  2. Cut palak finely and blanch it for 4 minutes in microwave
  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry onion. When it is half fried, add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric and coriander powder and fry for another 5 minutes.
  4. Add tomato puree and red chilli powder and fry till it leaves oil
  5. Add boiled black channa, spinach and salt
  6. Add 1/2 cup water to mix all the contents, cover it and cook for another 10 minutes
  7. Add crumbled paneer and cook for 5minutes
  8. Sprinkle garam masala in the end and stir well.
  9. Serve hot with chapatis or paratha.
