Ingredients to make Kandi kattu

  • Toor dal boiled 1 cup
  • Curry leaf 2 teaspoons
  • Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  • Red chillies 2
  • Chopped green chillies 1 teaspoon
  • Chopped garlic 1 teaspoon
  • Chopped ginger 1 teaspoon
  • Hing powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oil 1 teaspoon
  • Salt per taste.
  • 3 cups water
  • Jeera seeds 1 teaspoon

How to make Kandi kattu

  1. First boil the dal and later add water until you see it like liquid. Let it boil again upto bubbles occur.
  2. Next take pan and fry mustard seeds, redchillies, jeeraseeds, greenchillies, hing powder, curry leaf,garlic, finally add required salt.
  3. Temper it on our boiled rasam, yummy kandi kattu is ready to taste.
My Tip: No need to add red chilli powder, garam masala, You can prepare with moong dal also with the same process.
