Channa masala

Ingredients to make Channa masala

  • 250 gm red channa
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic (paste or church)
  • 2 medium sized tomato finely chopped
  • 2 medium sized onion finely chopped
  • ½ tsp haldi pdr
  • 4 tsp tomato sauce
  • 1 small potato boiled (cut into small pieces)
  • dhania powder- 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp zeera pdr
  • 1 tsp chilli pdr
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 4 tsp oil
  • salt as per taste

How to make Channa masala

  1. Soak red channa in water for overnight.
  2. Boil soaked channa with a little salt in pressure cooker.
  3. Heat oil in kadai and add onion.
  4. Fry till it is golden brown. Add chopped tomato, salt, haldi, jeera, dhania, sugar, chilli pdr.
  5. Pour 1/2 cup water and stir it to make a gravy.
  6. Add boiled chana and boiled potato to it and fry till it is almost dried. Now add tomato sauce and mix well.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with naan, puri or paratha.
