Ingredients to make Rajma masala

  • Rajma 1 1/2 cup washed and soaked in water
  • Onion 2 small
  • Garlic pods crushed 3
  • Ginger minced 1/2 tsp
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Whole garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • Tomato chopped 2
  • Asafoetida 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder Kashmiri 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  • Green chilli 2
  • Garam masala 1/4 tsp
  • Chopped coriander leaves 1 tsp
  • Oil 1 tbsp

How to make Rajma masala

  1. Cook rajma in pressure cooker for 4_5 whistles and keep aside
  2. Make tomato puree
  3. Mix cumin powder, coriander powder, chilli powder with 1 tsp water
  4. Heat oil, saute onion and whole cumin seeds, saute until onion turns brown
  5. Add garlic and minced ginger
  6. Add whole clove, cinnamon and bay leaf and dalchini
  7. Saute for 2_3 mins
  8. Add all the spices with water mixture
  9. Saute for 3_4 mins
  10. Add tomato puree
  11. Again saute for 2_3 mins
  12. Add hing, saute for some time
  13. Add cooked rajma
  14. Mix well with the spices
  15. Now add water in which rajma was cooked
  16. Boil the rajma with gravy for 10_15 mins
  17. Add garam masala
  18. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves
  19. Serve hot with chawal
  20. Your delicious rajma chawal is ready
