Chickpeas Sundal !!!

Ingredients to make Chickpeas Sundal !!!

  • Chickpeas - 250 gms ( boiled and kept aside )
  • Ginger- 1 tbspn grated
  • Green chilli - 2 to 3 finely chopped
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tspn
  • Split urad dal - 1 tspn
  • Turmeric powder - half tspn
  • Salt to taste
  • Dry red chilli - 1 (broken to pieces)
  • Oil - 1 tbspn
  • Grated coconut - 2 tbspn
  • Lemon juice - a few drops (optional )
  • Coriander leaves for garnish (optional )

How to make Chickpeas Sundal !!!

  1. Soak the chickpeas for at least 6 hours and pressure cook them with little salt, keep aside.
  2. Now in a pan put oil and when hot add mustard seeds, after it splutters put split urad dal, dry red chilly broken into half...
  3. When it turns brown add chopped green chilly, curry leaves and grated ginger....
  4. Saute well for two minutes... Then put turmeric pwdr and add salt if required (Remember that salt is added while boiling the chickpeas )
  5. Add the boiled chickpeas and mix well.... when done turn off the gas.
  6. Garnish with grated coconut and coriander leaves.... Put lemon juice and serve immediately :blush:
