ABOUT Channa Sundal RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Channa- 1 cup
  2. Coconut - 3 tbsp
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Lime/ lemon juice - 2 tsp
  5. Green chillies - 1 , chopped
  6. Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp, chopped
  7. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  8. Oil - 4 tbsp
  9. Asafoetida / Hing - 1 tsp
  10. Curry leaves - few leaves
  11. Split channa dal - 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak channa 2 hours. Then cook in the pressure cooker with enough water.
  2. In a wok/ kadai, heat oil
  3. Add mustard seeds, allow to splutter, add channa dal then add asafoetida, curry leaves.
  4. Add cooked channa mix well, add salt , coconut, salt
  5. Stir well, switch off the flame, add lime juice and sprinkle coriander leaves. Serve
