Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. 1/4 cup red kidney beans (rajma)
  2. 1/4 cup split and dehusked black gram (urad dal)
  3. 1/4 cup green gram (moong dal)
  4. 1/4 cup split pigeon peas (toor dal)
  5. 1/4 cup black eyed peas (lobia)
  6. Water as required.
  7. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak each dal in water separately in water until soft
  2. Drain each dal and grind them separately until smooth
  3. Mix them well
  4. Allow it to ferment and rise at room temperature overnight..
  5. Once it has fermented add in salt to taste and water as required and mix well
  6. To make idlis, grease the moulds with coconut oil
  7. Fill 3/4 with the batter
  8. Steam for 10 -15 minutes
  9. Serve hot

I tried the same recipe!! my idlies are not cooked at all!! What did I do wrong?
