Mixed sprouts masala

Ingredients to make Mixed sprouts masala

  • Mixed sprouts 500 gms
  • Chopped onions 1 cup
  • Chopped tomatoes 1 cup
  • Chopped green chilies 1 tsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
  • Mustard oil/ any other oil 2 tbsp
  • Aesofetida 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder 2 tsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Lukewarm water 2 cups

How to make Mixed sprouts masala

  1. Pressure cook the ready made sprouts with little water for two whistles. Drain the water.
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Add aesafoetida, chopped tomatoes and stir.
  4. Add chopped onions and cook till translucent.
  5. Now add the boiled sprouts. Put turmeric powder, salt, cumin powder and stir well. Cook for 3-4 mins.
  6. Add 2 cups lukewarm water to the mix, cover and put it on simmer.
  7. After 5 mins or once the water has dried up, switch off the flame. Add lemon juice and give a stir.
  8. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  9. The dish goes well with chapatis and pooris.

My Tip:

You can add a little ghee to the dish after switching off the flame.
